Inside impenetrable walls a secret lies within
Facades of great magnitude keep the citizens docile
Led to believe, but made only to fear the cloaked ones
Disembodied hands extend from outstretched arms
Seeking to smother the truth behind the lies
Brainwashed minions rise before their masters
Lights circle endlessly hypnotizing creatures
Atrophy of the servants mind wears away like sand
Unable to withstand the questions she’s been asked
Cracks appear upon the walls meant to keep us safe
Evil works its way inside seeping through the city streets
(Solo - Rauch)
Lake Laogai the source of mind corruption
Lake Laogai the source of mind corruption
The vacation you never wanted to take
Lake Laogai the source of mind corruption
Secret catacombs deep beneath the city streets
The cloaked one’s lair - source of malevolence
Crystals line the wall leading down the way
Agents of the false king aid the hulking beast
Fire flows from the beast’s mouth
Brother betrays his own kin
The fallen prince honor is lost
Lighting bursts from the mortal hands
Your last trip down to Lake Laogai
(Solo - Valera Godin)
Disembodied hands extend from outstretched arms
Seeking to smother the truth behind the lies
Brainwashed minions rise before their masters
Lights circle endlessly hypnotizing creatures

I can safely say that after jamming this album for 3 years, it is hands down my FAVORITE death metal album. I've never been able to pick a favorite before, but every single thing about this album is just perfection. Flawless production, god-level riffage, ride cymbal work that rings through to your bones, bass lines that perfectly accentuate the rhythm and the riffs, and of course HAIL MOLLUSCA Hatch
The songs are masterfully composed and flow together beautifully, and the orchestration is exactly how I want metal orchestration to sound: full, playable by a real orchestra, and just as important to the music as the vocals, drums, guitar, and bass are. tonycordeshimself
It is so good! there is definitely a dose of Opeth in this amazingness. Like if Opet was still going hard, but harder. Sexy progressive metal! DemiBeast
