We are all destined to leave this earth
Nothing left behind but a scar in the dirt
The ephemeral nature of all mortal ties
The ever-present fear of a sudden demise
Ambivalent towards the outcome of life
Overwhelmed with the fear that it all won't suffice
A shadow looming at the precipice of night
It permeates throughout, all succumb to it's might
Thoughts that enfeeble, entangle the mind
The righteous are scorned as the feeble arise
Confined in this maze, where's the path where to go?
The light doesn't shine in these depths I'm alone
Cast out and broken / Spurned and rejected
Razed to the ground / Enslaved and subjugated
Show me a sign as I wander this earth
A slave to my thoughts, taken at birth

Confined in this maze, where's the path, where to go?
The light doesn't shine in these depths I'm alone
Ambivalent towards the outcome of life
Overwhelmed with the fear that it all won't suffice
Confined in this maze, where's the path where to go?
The light doesn't shine in these depths I'm alone

I can safely say that after jamming this album for 3 years, it is hands down my FAVORITE death metal album. I've never been able to pick a favorite before, but every single thing about this album is just perfection. Flawless production, god-level riffage, ride cymbal work that rings through to your bones, bass lines that perfectly accentuate the rhythm and the riffs, and of course HAIL MOLLUSCA Hatch
The songs are masterfully composed and flow together beautifully, and the orchestration is exactly how I want metal orchestration to sound: full, playable by a real orchestra, and just as important to the music as the vocals, drums, guitar, and bass are. tonycordeshimself
It is so good! there is definitely a dose of Opeth in this amazingness. Like if Opet was still going hard, but harder. Sexy progressive metal! DemiBeast
